Shadow A Scientist was founded by three science graduate students, Ennessa, Hannah, and Odessa, who are excited to increase science awareness and communication! We strongly believe that we can use our current positions as researchers to increase accessibility of science to people of all backgrounds!

As a researcher…
I study how muscles develop and how mistakes in this process can lead to diseases. Muscle cells use DNA (the instructions for life in all of our cells!) to develop into large muscles (like your biceps!) and I study how this process works.

As a researcher…
I want to develop a new cancer treatment that is safe for patients. To accomplish this, I apply computational design to proteins that are involved in both cancer and the immune system to create a new tumor-targeted system.
